Access Statement

Beechwood Guest House is committed to ensure an appropriate accommodation service for prospective guests with disabilities. Due to the layout, Fire regulations and Council planning laws we are unable to provide facilities for guests with severe mobility limitations such as ramps and stair lifts.

However we welcome any enquiries from guests with disabilities, so we can discuss their needs and all reasonably attempts will be made to meet these.

• Nearest train station is approx 14miles away in Newcastle
• Nearest Bus & Metro station is approx 1/3 of a mile away
• Taxis are available outside Bus & Metro stations

• Assistance with luggage is offered
• All rooms have remote control TV
• All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities
• All rooms have Hair dryers
• All rooms have internal telecom to the dinning room
• Mobile phone coverage is adequate for most networks
• Our breakfast menu can be described verbally if required
• A variety of dietary requirements can be catered for with advanced notification
• Fridges in all rooms so you can store insulin/medication/special foods
• WI FI available at no extra charge
• Ironing facilities available
• Laundry facilities for long staying guests
• Access to Main House
• On street parking with no restrictions, no meters and with camera coverage.
• There are three steps up to the front door
• There is no hand rail into the Building
• The Dinning room is situated on the ground floor

Access to Guest Bedrooms

There are six bedrooms in total, One is on half landing and three are on the first floor and two are on the second floor. All rooms have en-suites, fridge, hair dryer, shaver point & Ironing facilities.

Bedroom 1
This is a Small Double / Executive Single room with full En-suite located on the First floor, this is seventeen steps from ground floor level. There are no hand grab rails in the shower.

Bedroom 2

This is a small Double / Executive Single room with full En-suite located on the First floor, this is seventen steps from ground floor level. There are no hand grab rails in the shower.

Bedroom 3
This is a Twin / Super King size room with full En-suite located on the First floor, this is seventeen steps from ground floor level. There are no hand grab rails in the shower.

Bedroom 4
This is a Family/ Large Double / Large Twin / Triple room with full En-suite located on the Second floor, this is Thirtythree steps from ground floor level. There are no hand grab rails in the shower.

Bedroom 5
This is a Small Double / Executive Single with full En-suite. Located on the second floor, this is Thirtythree steps from ground floor level. This room is full En-suite, there are no hand grab rails in the Double Shawer.

Bedroom 6
This room is Single room with full En-suite. Located on Half landing, this is thirteen steps from ground floor level. There are no hand grab rails in the shower.
